For example, a 1.00 ct. round diamond will measure around 6.5mm, and a 1.00 ct. round sapphire will measure around 6.0mm. This is due to the varying density of different gemstones.
Carat Weight Carat weight is the measurement of how much the diamond weighs. A metric carat is defined as 200 milligrams. Each carat can be divided into 100 ‘points.’ This allows for a very precise measurement to the hundredth decimal place. One carat will be shown as 1.00ct.
